Locking ownership

Locking ownership unlocks the copy of the document in the current share, locks the copy at all other shares, and prevents other shares from taking ownership of the document. It also updates the status information that is shown at all collaborating shares.

Before you begin

• The current share must be enlisted for the selected document as described in Enlisting remote shares for documents. 
• A copy of the document must already exist at the current share, made by one of the GCF scheduled transfers.
• The selected document must not be owned by any other collaborating share. If the document is already owned by another share, a user at that share must transfer ownership to your share as described in Transferring ownership.

To lock ownership of a document:

1. In Meridian Enterprise PowerUser, select the document for which you want to transfer ownership.
2. Click the Collaboration Status tab. The Collaboration Status property page appears.

3. Click Lock. The document will be locked by the next GCF scheduled transfer.
